What does a tattoo feel like?

  • Everyone has a different pain tolerance, but what I experienced is that it feels like a cat scratching repeatedly in the same spot till it goes numb.

Is Sealed Impressions facility clean and safe?

  • Sealed Impressions is a certified facility by the city of New Westminster. This means Sealed Impressions has passed an inspection with the health board to operate a tattoo business in the particular building. Sealed Impressions takes every precaution possible with regards to hygiene. All supplies are either sterile, single-use or disinfected properly.

 How are my needles cleaned?

  • They are bought pre-sterilized and are one use only.

How old do I have to be to get a tattoo at Sealed Impressions?

  • 18 years or older, please make sure to bring proper ID.

How to prepare before a tattoo?

  • Drink lots of water
  • Make sure to eat a proper meal before appointment
  • Have a good night’s rest
  • Bring proper ID to assure that you are of legal age
  • Make sure to have enough money to cover the cost of the tattoo
  • If you have a medical condition or taking prescription drugs, make sure you discuss with your doctor before hand, and if you require a doctor’s note, please bring it with you.
    • Examples: taking blood thinners, if you are a diabetic, etc.
  • If you become sick, please call to cancel or reschedule ahead of time
  • Make sure you have no skin conditions such as rashes, lesions, or open wounds.

 Can I use anesthetic/numbing cream?

  • It would be up to you, however, numbing creams can change the texture of your skin and how it takes in ink, which can affect the final appearance of the tattoo.

 Do NOT get a tattoo if;

  • You are involved in harsh activities that would include lots of sweating, rubbing against the area where the tattoo would be, water activities, and/or too much sunlight.
  • Severe medical conditions, pregnant/nursing, or taking prescription medicals (blood thinners)
  • Make sure you have no skin conditions such as rashes, lesions, or open wounds.
  • If you become sick, please call to cancel ahead of time to reschedule. It is never good to get a tattoo when your body’s immune system isn’t at 100%.

How do I care for my tattoo?

How long does it take for my tattoo to heal?

  • Every person heals differently, but the healing process is usually anywhere from 2-5 weeks.

What happens if it gets infected?

  • Signs of infection include; redness around site, swelling, colored discharge, foul odor and/or fever.
  • If you notice any of these signs, please contact your doctor as soon as possible
  • or call/Text Tera @ 778-837-4657

What are the harder places for healing?

  • Hand/finger, Feet, Neck, Lip
  • Please note that these harder to heal places will need more than one touch up session because of excessive rubbing, usage, or moisture.

 Do you tattoo faces?

  • I will not tattoo faces.

Do you tattoo the inner lip?

  • Yes, however, please note that this is a harder to heal place and will need more than one touch up session because of excessive moisture.
  • Just know these tattoos tend to fade much more frequent because the ink tends to “fall out” during the healing process because of the excessive moisture, so therefore cannot guarantee inner lip tattoos are lifetime.

Do you do all white tattoos?

  • Yes, however, it is almost impossible to guarantee how the tattoo will look in the end. They show up best on pale skin, though sometimes they end up looking like a scar, yellowish and weird, or sometimes they don’t show up at all. White is a translucent pigment, it isn’t opaque. Which means it isn’t best for outlining or used as the only color. This means that once the open wound with white ink accidentally gets in contact with other colors (such as purple from the carbon stencil, green or black) it could possibly stain the white and be that way permanently.

Do you do UV ink tattoos?

  • No, I do not do UV ink tattoos because I feel that this is a new technology of ink. There hasn’t been proper studies on how it effects our bodies and if it 100% safe or if it’s even worthwhile. Once there are factual results on how this ink works, than I may look into it more.

Can you fix/cover a tattoo I already have?

  • Yes, touching up or covering old tattoos is more of a different process. The best way to figure out if this is possible is to call to set up a time to look and discuss if I can help out.
